César Ordóñez

César Ordóñez was born in Barcelona, where he had his first photographic exhibitions in the late eighties. After a period in which he combined his artistic activity connected with advertising and fashion photography, in last years he has established in Barcelona and Tokyo the two bases where he develops his personal projects, taking up again at full time, his most intimate, vital and reflexive work.

Building -beyond the East-West dichotomy- a conceptual and artistic discourse itself, the result of the exchange of ideas and experiences the contact with Japan offers him. Thus have been generated his last 3 Tokyo’s projects: Ashimoto, Kagami and La intimidad. He has exhibited in several galleries in Spain as Rita Castellote (Madrid), h2o and Valid Photo (Barcelona), among others, and will soon present his work at Patricia Conde Gallery in Mexico. His works are in collections as: Auer Photo Foundation (Geneva, Switzerland) and Fotocolectania Foundation (Barcelona, Spain).

César Ordóñez nació en Barcelona, ciudad donde realizó sus primeras exposiciones fotográficas a finales de los ochenta. Tras un periodo en el cual compaginó su actividad artística con su vinculación a la fotografía publicitaria y de moda, en los últimos años ha retomado con dedicación plena, su trabajo mas íntimo, vital y reflexivo, estableciendo en Barcelona y Tokio las bases donde desarrollar sus proyectos.

Construyendo, más allá de la dicotomía oriente-occidente, un discurso plástico y conceptual propio, fruto del intercambio de ideas y vivencias que el contacto con el país nipón le brinda. Así se han originado sus 3 últimos proyectos “tokiotas”: Ashimoto, Kagami y La Intimidad. Ha expuesto en varias galerías en España como Rita Castellote (Madrid), h2o y Valid Foto (Barcelona), entre otras, y próximamente lo hará en Patricia Conde Galería en México. Obras suyas forman parte de las colecciones: Auer Photo Foundation (Ginebra, Suiza) y Fundació Fotocolectania (Barcelona, España).
